Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Juicer Review

I have owned several Juicer brands in my time.

For a while, trawling through a sea of juicer-related information online constituted how I spent my free time. You see, I’m a Juicer. With a capital everything.

I noted something during these online voyages. Everyone seemed to recommend Omega juicers. I had to get one!

In this piece review, I will examine the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Juicer. I will clarify its merits, which are many, and also point out to you its demerits.

But before we do that, a quick question: why do so many people juice nowadays…

Reason numero uno for juicing: for its health benefits.

Have you had the pleasure of watching Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead? Please do. It will inspire you. In the film, an obese man suffering from autoimmune disease decides to go on a diet consisting fruit and veggie juice for 60 days. Like all of us, he wants to feel better about himself. To do that, he must lose weight, and live a healthier lifestyle.

This desire for good health has led to the current juicing craze in the zeitgeist. It could be a fad; but while it lasts, juicers like the Omega J8006 will take advantage of it.

We juice for the nutrients. Unlike blending, which makes fiber-rich smoothies, juicing squeezes out the juice from the pulp, giving you a light drink packed with nutritional goodness. Put simply, each cup of juice gives you more nutrients than a smoothie.

Drinking smoothies does not guarantee weight-loss. Because blenders don’t eject the pulp. Everything, fiber and all, remains in the smoothie. Juicers, on the other hand, extract the juice, and toss the pulp. So you consume less, with each drop of containing more nutrients. It’s an efficient way to get in the minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, and enzymes you need.

Now that we know why we should start juicing, let’s turn our eyes to the Omega J8006, beginning with its features.

Features

  • It’s a masticating juicer.
  • It has a low speed of 80 RPMs.
  • It has an automatic pulp ejection system.
  • Constitutes a dual-stage juicing system.
  • 15-year warranty

Merits of The Omega J8006

As we have concluded up there, the majority of juicing devotees do juice for the health benefits.

But what if you found out one juicer guaranteed more nutrition than the next one. Which would you buy?

That’s precisely the case with the Omega J8006. It guarantees more nutrition than other juicers.

And it’s not just marketing.

Centrifugal juicers operate at high speeds, spinning the produce inside the chamber. An unintended effect of this rapid spinning: it causes the enzymes and other nutrients to break down their cellular structures, a process known as oxidation. The high exposes the pulp to a higher oxygen amount which leads to higher oxidation levels.

But what does that mean?

It means that the juice produced by centrifugal juicers contains a lower nutrient content. We lose them while juicing.

cold-press-vs-centrifugal

Masticating juicers don’t do that. They operate at slower speeds, exposing the pulp to a lower oxygen amount. The result? Masticating juicers, also known as cold press juicers produce a higher nutritional yield juice.

Second benefit of masticating juicers: they don’t shred produce; they crush it, then squeeze it. It retains more of the fiber-bound nutrients, resulting in a delicious, thick, smooth juice.

Third benefit of masticating juicers: unlike centrifugal juicers, leafy greens like celery and kale do not pose a challenge.

The Omega J8006 is a masticating juicer and operates at a low speed of 80 RPMs.

While some juicers have just one step (crushing) in their juicing process, the J8006 includes an extra step (squeezing). A dual stage juicing system. Juicers which merely crush are wasteful. They throw away the pulp while it brims with juice and nutrients. The Omega J8006 firmly presses it to extract every ounce of nutrition from the pulp. Result: you get more juice, more nutrition, and an exceedingly dry pulp.

Anyone who lives in either in either of these two places will appreciate the J8006:

a) A house shared with other people, or

b) A building shared with other people

I have seen uncountable people lodge complaints against their juicers for the racket they cause. The hubbub of a juicer’s vibration as it operates can get annoyingly loud, and make you unpopular with your neighbors or family. The Omega J8006 has a quiet operation. You can finally have a quiet juice. And your neighbors will thank you for it.

The Omega J8006 comes with an automatic pulp ejection system. This means you can have continuous juicing. A juicer made for juice fests with your friends.

Try finding a more versatile juicer. This multipurpose machine will make nut butter out of nuts (in case you love peanut butter on toast), prepare baby food, make soy milk, grind spices or coffee, extrude pasta, and mince garlic or herbs, and make frozen desserts. It comes with a food processor attachment which helps make all these delicious extras.

When you juice the passion fruit, you may not want to drink right away. Perhaps you have guests coming later on.

So you put the juice in the freezer for later. When you check it, you can’t help but think it has lost something vital. Not with the Omega J8006. You can store your juice for as long as 72 hours. That means longer retention of the nutrients contained in the juice.

It has a GE Ultem Auger. GE Ultem is eight times stronger than most plastics. In other words, durability. Veteran juicers will tell you horror stories of juicers whose parts started cracking and chipping off on the very first day of use. The Omega J8006 ensures that does not happen.

Other excellent features of the J8006 include:

a) It produces minimal foam.

b) It rarely clogs or jams.

c) It comes with a long warranty of 15 years.

Demerits of The Omega J8006 Juicer

Its multipurpose capabilities may be irrelevant if you just want a juicer. Also, if you already have a good food processor.

These multiple food processing functions come with extra parts, requiring extra assembly, disassembly, and cleaning: if you are looking for ease of use, the J8006 may not be for you.

Last Word

After reading that, I bet you will agree with me that as juicers go, the Omega J8006 is a badass. Even its demerits don’t count as demerits; rather side effects of being too impressive. I would advise you to purchase this juicer if you haven’t already.
