These are green juice recipes for weight loss and detox that the editor team here had tried and tested, and found to be effective. We highly recommend it even if losing weight or detoxing is not your goal – these juices are just overall very healthy and do wonders to the human body.

The following is just a guide though – how you prep and juice the ingredients is highly dependent on the model of your juicer as different models require different speed settings for different types of fruits and vegetables. So read your manual and follow all the instructions accordingly. 

1. Green Energy Boost Juice

This is one of the easiest juice to make. All you need to do is just push all the ingredients down your juicer and go for it.

Unlike your usual cup of coffee, it will do more for your health, mental alertness and wellbeing. And it’s incredibly energizing. There’s no better way to start the day than having this, really.

Ingredients

  • 5 kale leaves
  • 3 cups spinach
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 ginger piece
  • 1 sprig of mint

2. Sweet Treat Basil

All you need to do is juice everything with the basil leaves. Stir it well then top up with a handful of ice cubes, and drink. It’s very energizing!

Ingredients

  • 1 handful of basil leaves
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cucumber
  • ¼ lime
  • 3 spinach leaves

3. Berry Green Juice

Another very simple green juice recipe. Berries are rich in sweet antioxidants and they blend perfectly with kales, maximing its nutrients.

Ingredients

  • 5 kale leaves
  • 1 cup of any berries

Method

  1. Juice the kale leaves and blend the cup of berries separately in a blender or food processor. (or simply mash them with a fork if you have time on your hands)
  2. Then, add the berry puree to the kale juice and mix it with a spoon. Sit back and enjoy.
  3. Optional: Juice ½ lemon or lime with the kale, or add 1 piece of ginger.

4. Adventurous Green Juice

This one includes Jalapeno that makes the juice spicy and exciting.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of fresh pineapple
  • 5 kale leaves
  • ½ piece of fresh jalapeno
  • 1 cucumber

If you are feeling a little brave, you can actually add a full jalapeno but remember – they are very spicy.

5. Tropical Green Juice

  • 1 orange
  • 2 kale leaves
  • 3 celery stalks
  • ½ grapefruit

  • 4-5 handful of spinach

CAUTION

Do not be so smitten with green juices to the point that that is all you consume – there are plenty of other good stuff that the body needs, too.

While the goodness of spinach and kale are undeniable, be careful not to forget the beets and tomatoes too which are equally as healthy. Buy lots of cabbages and broccolis, but never pass up on the healthy carrots and apples.

Nutritionists and health experts all around the world always insist on the importance of a healthy well-balanced diet. They are the ones who have done all the research and studies so trust them on that. Green vegetables are great and healthy for you – yes, no objection to that – but the same courtesy should be extended to vegetables and fruits of other colours too, including when juicing.

Which is why we love juicing so much as it gives you a chance to explore the different combinations of healthy fruits and vegetables creatively. Those that you’d normally avoid eating? Probably wouldn’t be as repulsive when combined with other ingredients in juicing. And the results? You start to accept them and by including it in your diet, you become an even healthier you.
